Omlin named Borussia’s Player of the Month for April

Jonas Omlin is Borussia’s Player of the Month for April. The goalkeeper was selected by fans in the FohlenApp vote presented by Cichon Personalmanagement, finishing ahead of fellow nominees Nathan Ngoumou and Julian Weigl.

Jonas Omlin has been selected by Gladbach fans as their Player of the Month for the first time since his move to the Foals in January. The Switzerland international claimed a whopping 92 percent of the vote for April, with Nathan Ngoumou (4.3%) and Julian Weigl (3.7%) finishing second and third respectively.

Omlin was chosen as the Man of the Match away at Köln as he helped secure a derby point, and was subsequently named in kicker magazine’s Team of the Week. He kept another clean sheet in the 2-0 home win over Wolfsburg in the same month – his third since arriving at Borussia. He also demonstrated his quality between the sticks in Frankfurt, making a string of fine saves to help earn his side a draw. Despite defeats to Union Berlin and VfB Stuttgart, the 29-year-old could still hold his head high thanks to some more impressive stops.

  • October: Marcus Thuram
  • November: Jan Olschowsky
