Thank you and all the best, Tikus!

After four years at Borussia, Marcus Thuram will leave us at the end of the season. During his time with the Foals, the attacker received his first call-up to the France national team.

Marcus Thuram, who closes his chapter at Borussia this summer, joined the Foals from EA Guingamp in the summer of 2019. The Frenchman made 133 competitive appearances for Gladbach, scoring 44 goals and registering 29 assists, the best record of any Borussia attacker in the past four years. Thuram also became a France national team player during his spell, and alongside his numerous goals for the Foals, we’ll never forget his legendary corner-flag celebration as well as his enthusiastic and wild personality.

When asked what he’ll remember about his time at Borussia, Thuram gave the following answer: “The fans will always remain in my heart, also my teammates and the stadium. I’m very sure I’ll come back here at some point. I arrived as a 21-year-old and have been able to represent Borussia in one of the best leagues in Europe, in the Europa League and in the Champions League. I became a national team player here – Borussia has helped me in my most important stage of development as a footballer.” He couldn’t have dreamed to have matured into the player that he is today when he first arrived in Mönchengladbach. “I’ve got Borussia to thank for that. I grew up here, both as a player and as a person.”

Borussia thanks Marcus Thuram for his contribution and wishes him all the best for the future, both on and off the field.
