The “red lions” were beaten 1-0 (0-0) by Malta in a friendly at the Stade de Luxembourg. Kyrian Nwoko scored the only goal of the match in the 64th minute for the visitors. Pereira Cardoso, however, will forever remember the match despite the narrow defeat. The youth player from the FohlenStall celebrated his debut for the Luxembourg national side. The 17-year-old replaced Ralph Schon at half time. Borges Sanches, meanwhile, was in the starting eleven and was substituted in the 74th minute, with the 19-year-old making his 19th appearance for his country’s senior team.

Jonas Hofmann and Luca Netz are the next Borussia players to have a game on Monday evening. Hofmann will face Ukraine in a friendly with Germany in Bremen at 18:00 CEST. At the same time, Netz will be playing with the Germany U21s against a select team from South Tyrol in Prad, Italy.
