Itakura is Borussia’s Player of the Month for August

Ko Itakura is Borussia’s August Player of the Month. The Japanese was up against Tomáš Čvančara and Julian Weigl in the vote presented by ‘Cichon Personalmanagement’.

Ko Itakura has won the vote for August’s Player of the Month award. The Japanese accounted for 60 percent of the votes cast in the vote presented by ‘Cichon Personalmanagement’. He finished ahead Tomáš Čvančara (27%) and Julian Weigl (13%).

In the first Bundesliga game of the season away at FC Augsburg, Itakura rose highest at the Foals’ first corner and headed the ball into the net for his maiden Bundesliga goal. Itakura wasn’t only the first goalscorer in the new league season, but has also proved to be secure with the ball at his feet. The defensive all-rounder found himself amongst the Foals’ top three most accurate passers with a pass completion of 92 percent against FC Augsburg and 89 percent against Bayer Leverkusen.
