Indonesia U17s visit BORUSSIA-PARK

As part of a collaboration between the German Football League (DFL) and the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), the Indonesia national U17 side are spending two weeks in and around BORUSSIA-PARK.

The project initiated by the DFL has the aim of supporting the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) in terms of their development of young players. The U17s are currently preparing for the World Cup in their own country, which begins on 10th November. As well as training sessions, which will partially take place at BORUSSIA-PARK, many more activities and experiences await the youngsters.

For example, this includes a session led by Borussia on the subject of nutrition, a goalkeeping workshop run by Uwe Kamps for PSSI coaches and a friendly match against TSV Meerbusch. Additionally, the U17 players and their coaches will watch Saturday’s home game against RB Leipzig (15:30 CEST) live in the stadium and be given a full tour of BORUSSIA-PARK and the FohlenWelt museum.

“We’re very happy to be stepping up our relationship with Indonesia by hosting the U17 national team. We’re excited to be able to support the development of Indonesian youth football even more, in addition to our established work with the Borussia Academy Jakarta,” says Philipp Havermann, head of internationalisation and brand partnerships at Borussia.

Borussia already foster a relationship with the German School in the Indonesian capital Jakarta and opened the fourth Borussia Academy worldwide there this summer. There, the Foals offer children and young people the chance year-round to learn about football through the prism of Borussia’s training methods and quality standards.

The Indonesia U17s will be in Mönchengladbach until 30th September and will then spend the second part of their German trip with Borussia Dortmund.

The Indonesia U17s will train in Mönchengladbach over the next two weeks and will therefore get to know Borussia well.
