Match reaction from friendly against KAS Eupen

We got the reactions of head coach Gerardo Seoane, Jonas Omlin and Lukas Ullrich following the 2-0 friendly win against KAS Eupen.

Jonas Omlin: I’m very happy that I was able to play a game with the team again. It was a long journey and I was out for a long time, but I feel really good and my shoulder got through the whole game. Of course it’s always a little different to training in a game and I’m glad that I was able to play 90 minutes. However, I already felt good in the last few weeks and Mo Nicolas gave me time to recover properly. Now I’m happy that I can finally play again. For me, the aim of this friendly was to get a good feeling and be able to be out on the pitch together with the boys again. It was a solid performance from us overall. The fact that I got the captain’s armband right away is a massive honour for me.

Lukas Ullrich: Winning is always great – we managed to do that and it’s just always fun to play with the boys as we get on well both on and off the pitch. It was also a good test, which was very important in order to keep the rhythm going. When you don’t play for a week, you can tell when things get going again.

Head coach Gerardo Seoane: We’re happy that all of the players have remained fit and healthy – that’s always the main thing in a friendly like this. It’s also good that so many of the boys got some game time. Obviously we’re also happy about the positive developments with Jonas Omlin over the last few weeks, which have led to him coming back for the first time today and putting in a solid performance. Lukas Ullrich has already made a few appearances for the U23s since his injury, and was able to play the full game for us today. It’s clear to see that he’s making good progress and he’s got the right attitude on the pitch. Shio Fukuda showed us what he always shows in training. He has good instincts in the box and makes very good runs in the final third. He’s agile, quick, explosive and, above all, has great movement in the penalty area.
