Chiarodia and Italy U19s qualify for European Championship finals

Gladbach defender Fabio Chiarodia and the Italian U19 national team have confirmed their qualification for the 2024 European Championships in Northern Ireland after a 5-0 win over Georgia. France’s U23s, captained by Manu Koné, were held to a 2-2 draw by the United States.

Italy U19s

Fabio Chiarodia (photo: imago images/Mattia Martegani/IPA Sport) has qualified for the U19 European Championships with Italy. Chiarodia played the full 90 minutes in Lignano Sabbiadoro as his side beat Georgia 5-0 in their final game of qualifying to secure their place at the finals in Northern Ireland.

France U23s

Manu Koné captained France’s U23 side for 63 minutes of a 2-2 draw against the United States. Koné was on the pitch as Arnaud Kalimuendo gave Les Bleus the lead from the spot on 27 minutes, and the French went two goals to the good after Koné’s substitution through Andy Diouf (79’).  But a spirited performance from the visitors saw the Stars and Stripes salvage a draw after late strikes from Griffin Yow (86’) and Cade Cowell (89’).
