#BMGSCF: Match facts

Everything you need to know ahead of the Foals’ home game against SC Freiburg on Easter Saturday (15:30 CET).

  • Borussia and SC Freiburg have faced off against each other in the Bundesliga on 44 occasions, in which the Foals emerged victorious 12 times and SCF 14. The remaining 17 fixtures ended in draws.
  • Mönchengladbach and Freiburg shared the points in their last four meetings, marking SCF’s longest run of draws. Gladbach, however, came away with one point seven times in a row in the mid 1980s, which is a Bundesliga first.

  • Head coach Christian Streich will leave SC Freiburg at the end of the season after more than 12 years at the helm.
  • Christian Streich has the best points-per-game of any of Freiburg’s head coaches in the Bundesliga (1.3). They have lost just 141 (37 percent) of Streich’s 383 matches (including four where he was not on the touchline). Every other SCF boss has lost at least 45 percent of their matches.

OFFICIALS

  • Christian Dingert will referee Saturday’s clash between Gladbach and Freiburg. It will be the 21st time that the 43-year-old officiates a game involving the Foals in the Bundesliga. Of the previous 20 games, Borussia have won eight times, drawn three matches and lost on nine occasions. Benedikt Kempes and Nikolai Kimmeyer have been selected as the linesmen for the match, with Tom Bauer serving as the fourth official. Dr. Felix Brych and Sven Waschitzki-Günther will be on VAR duty.
