Gladbach begin preparations for final game of the season
A new week of training got underway for the Foals on Tuesday morning, as they start to gear up for their final Bundesliga clash of the season against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday (15:30 CEST).
Borussia had their first training session of the week on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the first game of the second half of the season against Bayer Leverkusen on Saurday (15:30). 14 outfield players and three goalkeepers completed an hour-long session in BORUSSIA-PARK, with the main focus being a seven-on-seven match. Ibrahima Traoré, Michaël Cuisance, Florian Neuhaus, Tony Jantschke, Jordan Beyer and Andreas Poulsen spent the day in the gym after appearing in the Telekom Cup on Sunday. Yann Sommer also didn’t train as his workload was being managed, while Matthias Ginter, Michael Lang and Fabian Johnson all trained individually. Raffael (fractured collarbone), Mamadou Doucouré (thigh) and Keanan Bennets (muscle strain) were all missing due to their respective injuries. “The players that were rested today will all return to first-team training tomorrow. Then our training sessions ahead of Leverkusen can really begin”, said assistant manager Dirk Bremser. Training in next two days will take place behind closed doors, before Hecking’s side will train publically on Friday at BORUSSIA-PARK from 15:30 CET, ahead of making their way to Leverkusen.
