Borussia to face Fortuna Düsseldorf in a friendly

The Foals will play a friendly against second-division Fortuna Düsseldorf during the October international break. The match will take place on Thursday, 8th October (15:30 CEST) on the FohlenPlatz at BORUSSIA-PARK.

Eight Borussia players will be away on international duty over the coming week. During this time, the Foals will face Fortuna Düsseldorf in a friendly on Thursday, 8th October at the FohlenPlatz at BORUSSIA-PARK. In the absence of several players, head coach Marco Rose will use the friendly in order to give playing time to those Foals who did not see much action during the first competitive games of the season. The friendly also represents a good opportunity for certain players to get back on the pitch after recovering from injury.

Fortuna Düsseldorf were relegated from the Bundesliga last season. In 2020/21 so far, Uwe Rösler’s side have suffered league defeats to Hamburger SV (2-1) and Holstein Kiel (2-1), while picking up a 1-0 win against Würzburger Kickers. Fortuna started the season with a 1-0 win against Ingolstadt in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.

300 fans permitted to attend

The friendly will be permitted to take place with 300 fans in attendance, in adherence with the regulations set forth by the local health authority.
