300 fans to attend the Champions League game against Real Madrid

The Foals will only have 300 fans at BORUSSIA-PARK for the Champions League home game against Real Madrid on Tuesday, 27th October (21:00 CEST) due to an increase of the seven-day infection rate in Mönchengladbach.

Borussia will only have 300 fans in the ground for their first home game of the new Champions League campaign against Real Madrid (27th October, 21:00 CEST). The original plan was for 10,804 Foals to attend the match at BORUSSIA-PARK, and all tickets had already been sold. However, the seven-day incidence rate in Mönchengladbach, which records how many infections there have been per 100,000 inhabitants over the past week, has risen to 59.4. Once the rate is 35, crowds over 300 are no longer permitted.

The relevant health authorities in Mönchengladbach have therefore revoked their approval to allow 20% of the ground’s capacity to attend the home game against Madrid. UEFA are only allowing a maximum of 30% throughout the Champions League this season, although they will leave the final decision up to the local authorities.
