BORUSSIA-PARK hosts Germany friendly win ahead of EURO 2024
One week before the 2024 European Championships in Germany get underway, the national team beat Greece 2-1 at BORUSSIA-PARK in their final friendly before the tournament.
The Foals will face Regionalliga side SV Elversberg in the second round of the DFB-Pokal (22nd/23rd December).
The opponents for Borussia's final competitive game of the calendar year have been confirmed: the Foals will face Regionalliga side SV Elversberg in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. Former Germany women's player Inka Grings conducted the draw on Sunday evening together with DFB vice-president Peter Frymuth.
The matches will take place on 22nd and 23rd December, with the exact dates and timings of the games usually being confirmed 10-12 days after the draw is made.
SV Elversberg are durring in third place (23 points) in the Regionalliga Südwest after 12 matchdays. They began their DFB-Pokal campaign with a 4-2 win over second-division side St. Pauli.
Borussia started their DFB-Pokal season with an 8-0 thrashing of Regionalliga side FC Oberneuland. Due to the strict hygiene regulations in place as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, both clubs agreed for the match to take place at BORUSSIA-PARK, although Oberneuland (as a lower-division side) were designated as the home team in the first round. Borussia last won the DFB-Pokal in 1995.
