Foals begin short training week ahead of Bayern match

Borussia got the second week of training of the New Year underway on Tuesday, starting the short preparations for the game on Friday night when VfL take on FC Bayern Munich at BORUSSIA-PARK (20:30 CET).

The Foals play the first Bundesliga match of the weekend on Friday night, taking on FC Bayern Munich at home (20:30 CET). Marco Rose’s team began preparations for the game against the champions on Tuesday afternoon with an 80-minute session focused predominantly on positional play. “We started this week’s training a little differently to usual with a 10-vs-10 game, amongst a few other things,” said the head coach. Valentino Lazaro sat out the session with the groin problem that kept him out of the Bielefeld match last weekend. “Unfortunately, we’ll be without Tino for a few more days,” reported Rose. “The rest of the boys were in a good mood though. It was important for us to start the new year with a win in the Bundesliga. Now we’re focusing on the game against Bayern Munich and looking forward to it.”

Until Friday night’s match, Borussia have two more training sessions on the agenda. However, as with all of the Foals’ sessions at the moment, this training will not be open to the public as a consequence of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
