Foals start the week without Elvedi and Hofmann

Borussia got back to work on Tuesday afternoon, preparing for the match away to Hertha BSC on Saturday (15.30 CEST).

On Saturday, the Foals will visit the Olympiastadion on matchday 28 of the Bundesliga (15:30 CEST). Preparations for the game got underway on Tuesday afternoon amid the snow and wind. “The session was intense and the weather conditions meant that things weren’t so easy,” said head coach Marco Rose. Three goalkeepers and 20 outfielders took part on the BORUSSIA-PARK training pitch, working on various passing styles among other drills, and with a game to finish. “It is important that we build on the points that we took from the Freiburg game, that we work to do better this week. We are getting ready for the upcoming opposition, of course,” said Rose. “Hertha have consistently played with a back three in the last few weeks and their system is focused on quick transitions. Only last time out against Union did the team play somewhat differently. They have great footballing quality, are decent physically and have bags of pace going forwards. They’re a good team that we have to be prepared for.”

Nico Elvedi, who picked up a knock to his calf in training last week, was unable to join in the first session of the week. Jonas Hofmann (positive coronavirus test), Torben Müsel and Julio Villalba (both in rehab training) also continue to miss out. Valentino Lazaro sat out the game at the end of the day’s training, completing a run instead

The Foals began preparations for the Hertha match on Tuesday.
Valentino Lazaro ended the session with a run.
