Adi Hütter to take over as Borussia head coach

Borussia Mönchengladbach have named Adi Hütter as the club’s new head coach from the 2021/22 season. The 51-year-old Austrian has signed a three-year contract with the Foals.

“We’re delighted that Adi Hütter has agreed to join us,” said Gladbach’s sporting director Max Eberl. “He is the best coach to take on the challenges and goals that we have as a team and as a club from summer and beyond.”

Adi Hütter was born in Hohenems, Austria, on 11th February 1970. He featured for clubs such as Grazer AK, Linzer ASK and Austria Salzburg during his playing career, also winning 14 senior international caps.

He also worked in Austria as a head coach in charge of SCR Altach, SV Grödig and Red Bull Salzburg, where he won a league and cup double in 2015. He went on to win the Swiss league title with Young Boys BSC in 2018, earning him a move to Eintracht Frankfurt. He took the Eagles to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League in 2019 and also reached the DFB-Pokal semi-finals in 2020.

Borussia reports second-highest turnover for 2023

During the annual general meeting for club members on Monday, 22nd March, Borussia chief executive Stephan Schippers gave his financial report for 2023. The club’s approximately €199.8 million of turnover is around €22 million more than last year.
