Thuram selected in France squad for EUROs

Marcus Thuram has been named in the France squad for the upcoming European Championship that will run from 11th June to 11th July 2021.

France national coach Didier Deschamps has selected Marcus Thuram (photo: Imago / PanoramiC) in his 26-man squad for this summer’s UEFA EURO 2020. The 23-year-old will face competition in the French attack from Wissam Ben Yedder (AS Monaco), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich), Ousmane Dembélé (Barcelona), Olivier Giroud (Chelsea), Antoine Griezmann (Barcelona) and Kylian Mbappé (Paris St. Germain).

The Borussia forward made his debut for 'Les Blues' in November 2020 and has made a total of three international appearances for the reigning world champions. Thuram has made 39 appearances for the Foals so far this season, scoring ten goals and providing twelve assists.

France will take on Germany in their opening group-stage match at the EUROs on 15th June (21:00 CEST). Deschamps’ side then face Hungary on 19th June, before rounding off the group stage against Portugal on 23rd June.
