Ten Borussia players in the EURO 2020 knockout stages

Eleven players from Borussia Mönchengladbach started the UEFA EURO 2020 tournament, which was delayed by a full calendar year to June 2021. The group stages are behind us and ten Foals remain in contention. Who are they up against? When are they playing? Your overview:

Switzerland

The biggest Borussia contingent present at the tournament is in the Switzerland squad, as it has been for several years. Yann Sommer, Nico Elvedi, Denis Zakaria and Breel Embolo were all called up. In Group A, Switzerland picked up four points against Wales, Italy and Turkey, progressing to the knockouts as one of the best four third-placed teams.

Austria

Two Foals are going into the last 16 with Austria: Stefan Lainer and Valentino Lazaro (returning to Inter this summer), finished second in Group C with Netherlands (group winners), the Ukraine (through in third) and North-Macedonia.
