Medical checks to start pre-season

Our Foals have returned from summer break and underwent various medical checks under the supervision of the Medical Park on Thursday.

Ahead of training getting underway on Saturday and Sunday (10:30 CEST both days), the Foals will undergo various medical and performance tests. The first round of tests took place on Thursday (1/7). A total of 22 players were on hand to take part in physiotherapeutic checks, including a gait analysis and coordination tests, as well as vision, orthopedic and neurological tests, among others. "These tests and checks help give us a detailled insight into the players' condition coming out of the summer break. The coaching staff is then able to determine the workload each player is capable of handling," said team doctor Dr. Ralf Doyscher.

On Friday (2/7), the team will undergo some final checks, including a lactate test. Training will then finally resume on Saturday (10:30 CEST), as new head coach Adi Hütter welcomes his team back to the pitch following their five-week long summer break. Sunday's session will also take part at BORUSSIA-PARK, in order to offer as many fans as possible the chance to attend the session. Anyone interested in attending must first book a ticket (free of charge) in our online ticket shop. Entry to the stadium will only be permitted to those who can provide proof of a negative test, vaccination or of having recovered from a previous Covid-19 infection.

Alassane Plea (l.) and his teammates have returned from their summer holidays.
