What’s next for our Foals on international duty?

Ramy Bensebaini (Algeria) and Conor Noß (Ireland U21s) both have more qualifiers coming up this evening.

At 21:00 CEST in Marrakesch, Ramy Bensebaini and the Algeria national team face their second 2022 World Cup qualifier. Currently leading Group A after an 8-0 win over Djibouti which saw Bensebaini score his fifth international goal, the ‘Desert Foxes’ will be looking to make it six points from six against Burkina Faso, who also won their first game 2-0 against Niger. The winners of each qualifying group will go straight into the playoff tournament, where Africa’s World Cup participants will be decided.

Ireland’s U21s with Conor Noß in the squad will take on Luxembourg as part of their qualifying campaign for the 2023 U21 EUROS in Romania and Georgia. The ‘Boys in Green’ won their first game 2-0 against Bosnia-Herzegovina with Noß playing the final ten minutes and now have their sights set on first place in Group F, currently occupied by Sweden with six points from two games. Ireland are favourites tonight, with Luxembourg yet to pick up a point after three games. The group winners qualify directly for the tournament, the second-placed team enters the playoffs.

Borussia’s U19 player Yvandro Borges Sanches made his debut for Luxembourg’s senior national team last week and could be in action again tonight in a friendly against Qatar. The 2022 World Cup hosts are taking part in the European qualifying Group A but not playing for points. They will play two friendlies against every team. The last game against Luxembourg finished 1-0 to Qatar back in March.
