Scally: “A feeling I’ll never forget”

Joe Scally’s first goal for Borussia was the icing on the cake in the 3-1 win at VfL Wolfsburg. After the game, the American spoke about...

...Borussia’s first win in Wolfsburg for nearly 18 years: To be honest, I didn’t know how long it had been since Borussia last won in Wolfsburg. I did, however, read before the game that our record against them over the last few years wasn’t that good, but I didn’t really think about it. Of course the win feels fantastic!

...his first goal for Borussia: It’s a feeling I’ll never forget. I always tell Yann that he should play it high to me when I’m free. When I got the ball, I saw that I had a clear path to goal, so I got a bit nervous and just sprinted off. When the ball hit the back of the net what I really wanted was to do it again, it was unbelievable.

...the team’s current form: We have built up some momentum, and the wins against Dortmund and Wolfsburg have given us confidence. Though it’s time for another international break, we will be ready when the league resumes. We’re looking forward to it and want to pick up from where we have left off.

...his goals with the national team: Every kid dreams of playing for his country. I wasn’t selected this time but maybe next time I will be. My main target is still the World Cup. It would be amazing to represent the USA in that competition.
