Thuram: “I hope I can help the team again soon”

Borussia attacker Marcus Thuram gave an interview on his journey back towards team training as well as the Foals’ current position.

Tikus, how’s your knee?

Marcus Thuram: My knee’s great, thanks to the work of the medical team, and now I’m focusing on getting my fitness back. I can almost put this injury behind me, and I cannot wait to get back into training with the whole squad again.

How long do you think it’ll be before you’re back in first-team training?

Thuram: I hope that I’ll soon be able to get involved with some parts of team training, possibly in a week or so.

How would you comment on the team’s current position?

Thuram: The lads are doing great. They’ve put in two strong performances in their last two matches. We’ve scored a few goals and are conceding fewer as well. I hope I can help the team again soon.”

If the team’s doing well when you’re injured, does that make your time in recovery any easier at all?

Thuram: Of course I feel better when the team is picking up good results, because it allows me to really concentrate on my comeback. It’s much easier to be patient whilst working on getting back to full fitness when things are going well for the team. They’re doing a fantastic job and I’m very grateful for that.
