Successful warm-up match for Bensebaini & Co.

Ramy Bensebaini and the Algerian national team comfortably beat Ghana 3-0 in a warm-up match ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Goals from Adam Ounas (8’) and Islam Slimani (79’) as well as a Jonathan Mensah own goal (74’) secured victory for “Les Verts” in their final warm-up match before the Africa Cup of Nations. Ramy Bensebaini lined up on the left side of defence and played the full 90 minutes in what was his 42nd cap for his country.

Algeria’s 2022 Africa Cup of Nations campaign begins on Tuesday with their opening group match against Sierra Leone (14:00 CET). Their other group stage opponents are Equatorial Guinea, whom they face on 16th January (20:00 CET) and their final group match is against Ivory Coast on 20th January (17:00 CET).

Patrick Herrmann to retire from playing in the summer
