Borussia and Adi Hütter part ways

Borussia Mönchengladbach and head coach Adi Hütter have agreed to part ways at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Borussia and head coach Adi Hütter have agreed to part ways at the end of the 2021/22 season. The decision comes following discussions within the club and an analysis of the season that took place over the last days and weeks. “We all agree that this is the right decision for both parties,” said sporting director Roland Virkus. “Our task is to now draw the correct conclusions from our analysis of the season and implement the right measures in order to ensure that we have a new set-up in place at the end of June to prepare for the new season.” Assistant coaches Christian Peintinger and Armin Reutershahn will also leave the club.

In an interview with Sky following the match against Hoffenheim, Adi Hütter said: "After several intense and respectful discussions, we have mutually agreed to part ways. It's not an easy decision, because I felt very at home here, but we didn't live up to the expectations we had set for ourselves on the pitch. I would like to thank the club for their transparency, their honesty and their clarity, and that I was able to enjoy what was for me a very important and great year at Borussia."
