International players begin training, Bensebaini doesn’t travel to training camp

Borussia’s international players trained with the squad for the first time on Thursday afternoon after arriving at the training camp in Tegernsee. Ramy Bensebaini did not join the squad after testing positive for coronavirus.

The Foals completed Thursday morning’s intense training session under the watch of Germany head coach Hansi Flick and the national team’s U21 coach Antonio di Salvo, as well as club vice presidents Rainer Bonhof and Dr. Stefan Stegemann and chief executives Stephan Schippers and Markus Aretz. Welcoming his international players to training for the first time, head coach Daniel Farke led his team on a reduced-size training pitch for the two-hour-long session.

Yann Sommer, Stefan Lainer, Jonas Hofmann, Joe Scally, Nico Elvedi and Breel Embolo were the ones to return after arriving in Tegernsee on Tuesday evening and Wednesday to firstly undergo performance checks.

Ramy Bensebaini did not travel to the camp Rottach-Egern due to a positive coronavirus result. The Algeria international is therefore in quarantine and under medical care. Manu Koné (knee) and Jacob Italiano (thigh) also missed training, while Rocco Reitz is not present at the training camp due to illness.

An indoor session is on the schedule for the team this afternoon.
