The Foals return to BORUSSIA-PARK

The Foals are back at BORUSSIA-PARK. The third week of preseason will see the players go through plenty more training sessions as well as two friendly matches and a quick tournament.

The squad have put in some of the hard yards ahead of the new season during the last week spent in Tegernsee, but our Bavarian training camp has now run its course. “We're not at 100% yet but we're on the right track,” said head coach Daniel Farke, who has three weeks left to prepare his team ahead of the first competitive game of the season. The first round of the DFB-Pokal will see Borussia face Oberliga side SV Oberachern on Sunday, 31st July (15:30 CEST), leaving Farke and his men ample time to continue building a strong physical base and to fine-tune the technical details.

Around noon today, the Foals got a fresh week started with a training session behind closed doors at BORUSSIA-PARK. This week’s schedule contains two friendly matches and a quick tournament. Further training sessions will take place on Wednesday (10:45 CEST), Thursday (a morning session followed by weight training after lunch), Friday (16:00 CEST), Saturday and Sunday (both 10:45 CEST).

Netz trains alone

After his negative PCR test, Luca Netz got started with his individual training program today. Also remaining absent from team training were Manu Koné (rehab training), Ramy Bensebaini (positive COVID test) and Rocco Reitz (ill) as well as Jacob Italiano and Jordan Beyer who both missed the most recent friendly against 1860 Munich (6-0) due to injury.

The Foals will play FC Viktoria Köln on Wednesday. The match against the third-division side will kick off at 18:30 CEST on the FohlenPlatz. The squad will then travel to play Standard Liége of the Belgian top flight on Saturday (14:00 CEST). On Sunday, Borussia will take part in the “Traditions Cup” in Duisburg. The tournament will see us play 45 minute matches against MSV Duisburg and Athletic Bilbao.
