The underdogs managed to draw the game away in Turkey 3-3. The visitors led three times, through Marvin Martins (5’), Danel Sinani (37’) und Gerson Rodrigues (69’). Borges Sanches, who was winning his 13th international cap, was heavily involved in the goal to make it 2-1, taking the ball off former Schalke playing Kaan Ayhan before perfectly laying the ball on for Sinnai to score. Turkey equalised in the 87th minute through Ismail Yüksek to draw the game 3-3. On Sunday (20:45 CEST), Luxemburg play their final game against Lithuania. Borges Sanches’ and the team find themselves in second place, and no longer have any risk of falling into League D.

Austria at risk of relegation

The Austria national team, without Stefan Lainer who spent the full 90 minutes sat on the bench, lost 2-0 to France on Nations League A’s fifth matchday and as a result fell into last place in the group. Austria have to win on Sunday against Croatia (20:45 CEST) and need France not to win their game against Denmark in order to avoid relegation to League B.
