TEAM NEWS

Head coach Daniel Farke named an unchanged starting XI from the most recent games against RB Leipzig (3-0 win) and Werder Bremen (5-1 loss). Joe Scally, Marvin Friedrich, Nico Elvedi and Ramy Bensebaini lined up in defence in front of goalkeeper Yann Sommer, with Julian Weigl and Manu Koné starting at defensive midfield. In attack, Farke relied on the trio of Jonas Hofmann, Christoph Kramer and Lars Stindl, with Marcus Thuram as the lone striker.

The Foals were without Florian Neuhaus (partial rupture of the posterior cruciate ligament), Ko Itakura (partial MCL rupture) and Hannes Wolf (labral tear in the shoulder joint).

57’: Koné sends Thuram, but his first-time shot is blocked and goes out for a corner.

60’: Another good chance for the Foals, as Hofmann finds Thuram, but his shot misses the target.

76’: Our fourth of the afternoon! Koné lays the ball off to Hofmann on the right, who squares it to Bensebaini in the middle and all he needs to do is tap it in.
