Borussia also without the services of Sommer for the foreseeable future

Shot-stopper Yann Sommer will be unavailable for the Foals indefinitely after suffering an ankle injury in the DFB-Pokal game against Darmstadt.

The injury happened in the fourth minute of the game: Yann Sommer went up to collect a cross from and landed awkwardly on his left foot. The Swiss keeper tried to carry on playing, but in the 13th minute he had to make his way from his area as he was replaced by second choice keeper Tobias Sippel.

He will in all likelihood play in goal for the Foals in the next few games until Sommer fully recovers.

At the final Bundesliga home game of the season against Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia officially said farewell to Tony Jantschke and Patrick Herrmann, who will both retire from playing at the end of the season.
