Wolf: “I’m not the kind of guy to give up”

Midfielder Hannes Wolf answered questions from the media following Wednesday’s 4-0 friendly win over Arminia Bielefeld. We were on hand to gather the key quotes.

Hannes Wolf on...

...his current fitness level: I’m finally back from my injury. The first friendly against Oldenburg wasn’t so easy, because it was quite tiring and tough on the muscles. I felt a lot better today.

...the rehab process for his shoulder injury: I was able to get on the exercise bike quite soon and get my body working again, although I still lost some muscle in that time of course. I’m back at the same level as everyone else now though.

...his relationship with Daniel Farke: We have a good relationship and I believe that I would have been playing games if I hadn’t had my injury. Now I have to go again. I’m starting from scratch.

...his personal goals for the remainder of the season: I have a lot of ambition. I’m not the kind of guy to give up. These last years haven’t been easy for me, but I think that having this experience at a young age has helped me. My first goal is to stay healthy. I will continue to believe in myself and work hard, and we’ll see what comes out of it.

Borussia’s ambitions on the pitch this season: We’ve established ourselves under the new coach and are playing good football. I think our playing style was clear to see in the friendly against Bielefeld too. I believe we can do great things. We just have to find consistency, which was missing in the first half of the season. I also want to play my part in doing that.
