Foals begin their preparations for Leverkusen

The players took part in a 90 minute session on Wednesday afternoon as attention now turns to Sunday’s clash with Leverkusen (17:30 CET).

After a ten week winter break, the Foals are finally back in Bundesliga action! The preparations for Sunday’s match against Bayer Leverkusen at BORUSSIA-PARK got underway on Wednesday afternoon with a 90 minute session.

Yann Sommer did not take part in the team training. Talks for the transfer of the 34-year-old are into their final phase. Yvandro Borges Sanches completed an individual session after his hip flexor strain, as did Marcus Thuram, who is currently suffering from an inflammation in his knee. “It’s nothing serious with Tikus. We’ll have to look at him day by day,” explained head coach Daniel Farke.

Gladbach’s preparations continue with a double session on Thursday. Farke’s men will also take part in behind-closed-doors sessions on Friday and Saturday, before they return to Bundesliga action against Bayern Leverkusen on Sunday.
