Thuram and Scally miss the start of the training week

The Foals’ preparations for their home game against Bayern (Saturday, 18th February, 15:30 CET) got underway on Wednesday afternoon. Head coach Daniel Farke, however, had to do without the injured Marcus Thuram and Joe Scally.

“Bayern are in a good place and will be highly motivated to put in a good performance against us. Playing FC Bayern is the toughest test in German football, maybe even in European football,” explained Daniel Farke after Wednesday’s 90 minute session. “Nevertheless, we are looking forward to this challenge at a sold-out BORUSSIA-PARK. It’s the next chance to pick up some more points. Every point counts in the Bundesliga.”

Marcus Thuram and Joe Scally, who both have muscle injuries in their calves, were forced to miss the team session and trained individually. “We’ll have to wait and see with Marcus and Joe. It will be a tight race to get them fit for Saturday but it looks better for Joe than it does for Tikus. We’ll have to see,” said Farke. Ramy Bensebaini, who missed out against Hertha due to illness, was able to fully take part in the session. Julian Weigl, who was suspended against Hertha and had a minor adductor injury last week, was also present.

The players will continue their preparations for the Bayern game with sessions on both Thursday (10:45 CET) and Friday (behind closed doors).

Ramy Bensebaini and Julian Weigl returned to team training on Wednesday.
