Sonepar and Borussia extend brand partnership to 2029

The electrical wholesaler Sonepar and Borussia Mönchengladbach have agreed on an extension of their brand partnership for a further six years until 2029.

Sonepar and Borussia have been working together for more than a decade now. Sonepar has been Borussia’s innovation partner since 2019 and has featured on the club's shirt sleeves since the 2020/21 season.

The partnership with the worldwide leading electrical wholesaler was extended to the women’s and youth teams in summer 2022. “The current long-term extension of our partnership is proof that we share common values and want to work towards them together. This constantly developing commitment is now reflected in the even more important social and ecological responsibility in the partnership,” said Borussia’s managing director Stephan Schippers.

Innovation and sustainability partner

Sonepar is now an innovation and sustainability partner of the club. “This expansion of our partnership is the result of lasting and successful collaboration. Sonepar and Borussia have a broad base of values on which we want to responsibly shape the future together,” said Borussia’s sponsorship director Guido Ulhe. Dieter Leutz, managing director of sales in Germany at Sonepar, said, “We are delighted that we have been able to extend our commitment once again. Sustainability is an important part of Sonepar, because as an electrical wholesaler we are able to positively affect the energy industry.
