Preparations begin for Wolfsburg on the weekend

The Foals began preparations of Sunday’s home game (15:30 CEST) against VfL Wolfsburg with a training session on Wednesday afternoon.

Head coach Daniel Farke was able to welcome 20 outfield players and three goalkeepers to the training pitch at BORUSSIA-PARK. This included centre-back Tony Jantschke, who returned to team training for the first time since suffering a torn meniscus in late February. “Despite being sidelined for a while, he looked good out there. He has nearly completed his rehab plan,” Farke said after training.

Absent once again today was Julian Weigl (partial syndesmosis ligament tear). The 27-year-old continues to work on his comeback from injury. “He might be able to complete parts of team training tomorrow,” Farke revealed. Weigl and Yvandro Borges Sanches (ankle) both completed an individual session at Borussia’s Performance Centre. Jonas Hofmann also didn’t train due to personal reasons.

The Foals will train again on Thursday and Friday, with two public training sessions set to take place at 10:45 CEST. The team will also complete a fitness session on Thursday (15:45 CEST) before the final training session takes place behind closed doors on Saturday.
