Scally takes part in full training as focus turns to Frankfurt

Despite the announcement that captain Lars Stindl will leave the club at the end of the season, the Foals began training this Wednesday afternoon with their focus firmly on preparations for the Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday evening (18:30 CEST).

Immediately ahead of a new week of training, captain Lars Stindl announced to his teammates that he would be leaving Borussia in the summer after eight years. “It was an emotional moment when Lars shared his decision with us. It will definitely be even more emotional at the end of the season, but now we are still too focussed on the sporting side of things. We still have seven games with Lars and will try to get in as good a position as possible from these games in order to give him a worthy send-off,” said head coach Daniel Farke.

With the exception of Yvandro Borges Sanches (injured ankle), Borussia’s head coach was able to welcome the whole squad onto the training pitch. Joe Scally, who had to be substituted in the final stages of the home game against VfL Wolfsburg last Sunday (2-0 win) with a thigh problem, was able to take part in full training. “It was an old scar, that together with a high workload, caused problems, but Joe has been able to recover well, and will be available for selection again against Frankfurt at the weekend,” said Farke, whose team will team twice more ahead of the game way in Frankfurt, on Thursday at 10:45 CEST, as well Friday afternoon in private.

"We still have seven games with Lars and will try to get in as good a position as possible from these games in order to give him a worthy send-off,” said head coach Daniel Farke
