Trio missing from training

The Foals began preparations for Saturday’s away game against VfB Stuttgart (15:30 CEST) on Wednesday afternoon. Marcus Thuram, Ramy Bensebaini and Manu Koné were all missing due to injuries.

The first full training session of the new week lasted 90 minutes and took place without three players. Marcus Thuram suffered an adductor strain in the 1-0 defeat at home to Union Berlin at the weekend and is now set for a spell on the sidelines. “Tikus will definitely miss the next two games. We’ll have to see if we can get him fit for the final three matches,” said head coach Daniel Farke.

Ramy Bensebaini (hip) and Manu Koné (thigh) both picked up knocks in the Union game and missed training today too. “Ramy’s injury isn’t a major one, but I doubt he will make this weekend’s match. Manu won’t be able to train tomorrow so he will also be a real doubt for Stuttgart,” reported Farke.

Christoph Kramer (ill), Tobias Sippel (cut to his head) and Semir Telalovic (sprained ligaments) were all back with the team after missing Monday. The Foals will train again tomorrow in front of the fans and then behind closed doors on Friday afternoon.
