Max Brüll signs professional deal with Borussia

Borussia Mönchengladbach have handed 20-year-old youth team goalkeeper Max Brüll a professional contract.

“Max has been with us since U14 level and has consistently progressed. We’re very happy that we can continue this development together, which will see Max get more game time with the U23s,” said Mirko Sandmöller, director of the youth academy.

“I’m delighted to have extended my contract at Borussia, such a big club and one I’ve been able to represent for almost eight years. I feel very much at home here and am looking forward to being able to take my next steps here,” said Brüll.

The 1.87-metre-tall goalkeeper arrived at the FohlenStall as a 13-year-old in 2015 and has worked his way through the club’s youth teams. Brüll got his first action at senior level in 2020/21 for Borussia’s U23s in the Regionalliga West. He has since featured 23 times for the team, keeping five clean sheets.

The 20-year-old has made 18 appearances in the Regionalliga this season, keeping the opponents at bay in four of those games, and therefore playing a significant role in the U23s’ successful campaign, which sees them sitting second on 65 points, three clear of third place with one game to go.

Brüll was also part of the first-team squad on matchday 15 in the current Bundesliga season, taking a place on the bench against Borussia Dortmund.
