The Foals prepare for the last away match of the season

Borussia completed the first training session on Wednesday afternoon, again without goalkeeper Jonas Omlin, who was only involved in fitness training.

After Tuesday’s session not open to the public in the Performance Centre, the Foals were back on the training pitch today in preparation for the last away game of this Bundesliga season next Sunday (19:30 CEST) against Bayer Leverkusen. Semir Telalovic (work load) trained individually today, while Jonas Omlin completed fitness training due to his ongoing muscular problems. “Jonas has recovered slightly, but he won’t be involved in team training tomorrow. It will be tight whether he can play at the weekend. At the moment, I would say it’s about 50:50,” said head coach Daniel Farke.

Marcus Thuram will be available for Borussia again, who was on the bench for the game against Dortmund (5-2) after recovering from an adductor strain. “Tikus had only completed one session with the team ahead of last Saturday. It would have been enough to play for a quarter of an hour, but we didn’t want to take any risks given the result. As he is now part of the normal training week and has been training well, he should be able to play again against Leverkusen,” said Farke. Alassane Plea has served his suspension and is also available for the Foals again. Ramy Bensabaini, however, is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card against Dortmund.

There are two more public sessions on Thursday and Friday, and the final training session on Saturday morning will be behind closed doors.
