Seoane: “Can feel the closeness with the fans”

Borussia started the week with two training sessions on Monday. Head coach Gerardo Seoane appeared pleased with what he saw from his side.

The morning began with a team bike ride to the training pitch in Rottach-Egern. After warming up, the players took part in an intense fitness session, with fitness coach Nicolas Dyon having set up several different exercises involving strength training, headers, passing and running drills.

Hard work from the team

After a short water break, the team worked in various groups out on the main training pitch, with a focus on shooting. Goalkeeper Jonas Omlin, Tobias Sippel, Moritz Nicolas and Max Brüll were all involved. “One of the goals of our training camp is to work on several different areas during our sessions, and ensuring that we bring both intensity and quality to the table. We want to pair the tactical side with the physical side,” said Seoane.

The second session of the day focused on defending in various formations. At the end of the day, the head coach gave his impression of what he’s seen so far: “The team are focused and very involved in what we’re doing. As a coach, it’s great to see,” he said. “Of course, there are several areas we still need to work on, and minor errors to correct. It’s a process. We have a young side and are trying to get everyone on board.”

Two more training sessions before a friendly on Wednesday

Seoane was also pleased with the surroundings in Rottach-Egern and the interactions between the team and the many fans that have made the trip. “The scenery, the surroundings - it’s wonderful. We have everything we need. It’s incredible for all of us to feel the support. We can feel the closeness with the fans here. The players are fully committed to the club, and know the expectations and mutual respect between them and the fans.”

The Foals will be back on the training pitch on Tuesday at 10:30 CEST. There will be another training session on Wednesday morning (10:30 CEST) before a friendly against Ingolstadt that evening (18:00 CEST).
