Foals prepare for the first home game of the season

This morning, the Foals began their preparations for their Bundesliga game against Bayer Leverkusen at BORUSSIA-PARK on Saturday evening (18:30 CEST).

The team has moved on from their crazy start to the Bundesliga season away at FC Augsburg (4-4) and are now focusing on their first home game of the season against Bayer Leverkusen. “We’ve looked back at the last match and are going to work on the things that weren’t so good,” says head coach Gerardo Seoane, who had to do without both the ill Grant-Leon Ranos as well as Tomáš Čvančara, who scored a brace at the weekend, at the beginning of the new week of training today. The Czech came away from Augsburg with a bruised bone in his foot and consequently only completed some running drills today. Additionally, Luca Netz sat out due to muscular problems. However, all three should be able to take part in team training again soon. Christoph Kramer (in rehabilitation after tearing his MCL) and Manu Koné (in rehabilitation after a knee injury) have been continuing their individual training in the meantime.

Seoane has scheduled three training sessions for his team ahead of the clash against Bayer Leverkusen. The sessions on Wednesday and Friday will take placed behind closed doors. The open training session on Thursday starts at 10:30 CEST. The first home game of the Bundesliga season begins at 18:30 CEST on Saturday. “We are undoubtedly going into the game as underdogs, but this role can also sometimes be helpful, and we will definitely have chances to cause them problems,” says Roland Virkus, Borussia’s sporting director, in an interview
