Borussia’s second-round DFB-Pokal game against Heidenheim will be played on a Tuesday

The DFB has scheduled the second-round DFB-Pokal matches this Friday afternoon. Borussia will host 1. FC Heidenheim at BORUSSIA-PARK on Tuesday 31st October (20:45 CEST).

Last Sunday, former Germany international Shkodran Mustafi drew the 16 pairings for the second round of the DFB-Pokal at the German Football Museum in Dortmund under the watchful eye of DFB Vice President Peter Frymuth. In doing so, Mustafi pitted Borussia in a home tie against 1. FC Heidenheim. Today, the DFB announced the exact schedule for the second-round matches; the Foals will host the newly-promoted Bundesliga side on Tuesday 31st October (20:45 CET) at BORUSSIA-PARK.

Borussia booked themselves a place in the second round with a comfortable 7-0 victory over Oberliga side TuS Bersenbrück back in the middle of August. Last season, the Foals went out to Bundesliga newcomers SV Darmstadt 98 in the second round of the DFB-Pokal, after suffering a 2-1 away defeat.

The round of 16 of this season’s cup competition is scheduled for the 5th/6th December. The quarter-finals will take place on 30th/31st January and 6th/7th February 2024, while the semi-finals will be played on 2nd and 3rd April 2024. Last but by no means least, the final is scheduled for 25th May 2024.
