STEPHAN SCHIPPERS on the JUDGEMENT OF THE EUROPEAN COURT OF JUSTICE

On Thursday, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) announced that clubs cannot be categorically excluded from participating in competitions such as the Super League.

Borussia's chief executive Stephan Schnippers spoke about the judgement: "We have acknowledged the judgement of the European Court of Justice, but we're still convinced that the current system made up of FIFA, UEFA and national leagues should not be revolutionised. A competition like the Super League would put the current system in danger, in particular the national leagues like the Bundesliga. We very much applaud the fact that the German clubs have clearly spoken out against the Super League."
