New third shirt available now

Borussia have released their new 2021/22 third shirt in advance of the Foals’ first away game of the season against Bayer Leverkusen (Saturday, 18:30 CEST).

Together with Puma, the new third shirt was released on Thursday night (18th August), and is available to purchase in the club’s online shop, both FohlenShop locations, as well as all Puma stores, puma.com and various sporting goods stores. Adult sizes retail for €84.95, with kids’ sizes retailing for €64.95. Fans also have the option of adding an overlay of the Borussia badge on the left chest of the shirt, available exclusively and free of charge in all Borussia shops (online and retail locations). Matching shorts and socks, as well as coordinating accessories are also available to purchase.

Through this bold new design, which has also been created for AC Milan, Manchester City, Valencia FC, Olympique Marseille, Stade Rennes, Shakhtar Donetsk, Fenerbahçe, FC Krasnodar and PSV Eindhoven, Puma are looking to push the limits with a futuristic design connecting innovative products to the world of football. The new shirts highlight the identity of each individual club, while the new design combines football with the world of streetwear culture.

Instead of featuring in its usual spot, the club badge has been moved to the back of the shirt, underneath the collar. The club badges have also been interwoven into the fabric of selected models of the shirts in an innovative new pattern. The name of the club is prominently positioned in the centre of the shirt using each club’s unique font. Driven by Puma’s signature ambition to be bold, this new design challenges the prevailing conventions of football shirt design and draws inspiration from other sports as well as popular streetwear and fashion trends.

The new third shirts are made of 100% recycled polyester with the innovative PUMA dryCELL thermoregulation technology. This allows for optimal fit and mobility while also ensuring comfort and dryness. The shirt features an integrated ultra-light jacquard structure on the back in order to ensure improved breathability during high-intensity sport. Puma have also used the innovative Dope Dye manufacturing process, which helps reduce the amount of water and dye used during production, as part of their commitment to the production of sustainable products.

To mark Patrick Herrmann’s 300th Bundesliga appearance, get free player printing on all Herrmann shirts from now until Sunday (22nd August).
