Pre-season to begin on Sunday

Borussia are back! On Sunday (12:15 CEST), the Foals will take part in their first pre-season training session at the FohlenPlatz.

Pre-season training will officially begin on Sunday. The session will take place at the FohlenPlatz, as the pitch inside BORUSSIA-PARK is currently being resurfaced. New signing Oscar Fraulo will take part in his first session with the team. VfL fans who wish to watch the session are welcome to attend, with a maximum of 2,000 permitted at the training ground.

The training session will also be live-streamed on FacebookYouTube and FohlenTV.

Performance tests on Thursday and Friday

On Thursday and Friday, the team completed the obligatory performance tests at the Medical Park. Several stations were set up to allow the 20 players in attendance to undergo physiotherapeutic checks, a running analysis, motor skills tests, vision tests as well as orthopaedic, neurologic and various other tests.

Borussia’s first pre-season friendly will be against third-tier side Rot-Weiss Essen on Friday, 1st July (19:00 CEST). Tickets for the match can be purchased here. Manu Koné, Hannes Wolf and Yvandro Borges Sanches will likely return to team training the day prior, following their return from international duty. Yann Sommer, Nico Elvedi, Breel Embolo, Stefan Lainer, Jonas Hofmann, Ramy Bensebaini and Joe Scally will join up with the team during training camp at Tegernsee.

Lainer and Elvedi back on the training pitch

On Tuesday morning, Borussia kicked off their preparations for their Bundesliga game at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Saturday (15:30 CEST). Although Stefan Lainer and Nico Elvedi were able to train with the team, eight other players were missing with illness or injury.
