Omlin: “A traditional club with great fans and an amazing stadium"

After his first training session as a Foal, Jonas Omlin took questions from the media to discuss his first impressions, the reasons behind his move to Gladbach and Sunday’s clash with Leverkusen.

Jonas Omlin on…

…his first impressions: Everything feels great. I have already gained a sense of how professional the conditions are here and it’s that bit bigger than what I’m used to. I’m delighted to be here and I can’t wait to get to work with Borussia. Let’s go!

…the dynamics of his move to Gladbach and Yann Sommer’s move to FC Bayern: I don’t think that was normal (laughs). In the end, I’m just happy that everything worked out and that I’m now here. I can’t wait for Sunday.

…why he joined Borussia: It’s a super club. It’s full of tradition, it has great fans and an amazing stadium. I don’t think I need to say anymore. In that sense, everyone can understand why I came here.

…his expectations for Sunday’s game against Bayer Leverkusen at BORUSSIA-PARK (17:30 CET): I’m full on anticipation. I was in the stadium yesterday after I signed my contract and I was able to look around a little bit. I’m really looking forward to seeing the 50,000 fans cheering us on. It’s going to be a fantastic game against a top opponent. We’ll do everything we can to get the win.

…what type of player he is: I am a nice guy and I think I’ll contribute well to the team. I am not the sort of person who does things half-heartedly and I will always give my all. Of course, I hope that I’ll make lots of important saves for Borussia in order to help us pick up points.
