All of the important facts and useful information ahead of the Foals’ Bundesliga away fixture against SC Freiburg on Saturday afternoon (15:30 CET).

Head-to-head record

  • On Saturday, Freiburg and Borussia will face off against each other for the 43rd time in the Bundesliga. The Foals have won 12 out of the 42 top-flight clashes between the two sides (D16, L14).
  • SC are unbeaten in their last 15 league home games against Mönchengladbach (W10, D5), which is their longest unbeaten run at home against another team in the club’s Bundesliga history.
  • Borussia’s only win from the 21 Bundesliga away matches in Breisgau came on 23rd March 2002, with Arie van Lent scoring the only goal of the game.

Statistics

  • After two points from their first five Bundesliga games this season, Borussia have picked up seven in their last four and thus climbed to eleventh in the table.
  • The Foals have lost just one away game this season (3-1 in Köln) and have won more points in their four away matches (five) than they have in their five at home (four). They have also scored eleven goals on their travels already.
  • Mönchengladbach have scored six goals from corners in the Bundesliga this season – the most in the division and already as many as in the whole of the last campaign. Franck Honorat delivered four of these corner kicks.
  • SC Freiburg have not lost a Bundesliga game against a team who were in the bottom half prior to the match for almost two years (since November 2021), registering 21 wins and eight draws.
  • Freiburg have won three of their four Bundesliga home games this season. The only blemish was an unlucky 4-2 loss to Dortmund on the fourth matchday.
  • SCF have already suffered four defeats – as many as in the entire first half of last season. All of these defeats have come against the current top four in the table.
