Foals begin preparations for Dortmund clash

The Foals began their preparations for the home game against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday (15:30 CEST) with a 90 minute session on Tuesday afternoon.

The Foals started the new week of training in a more relaxed mood following the 3-1 win away at VfL Wolfsburg, but they are keen to avoid losing focus and don't want to take their eyes off the upcoming challenges. “The win gave us an energy boost. Nevertheless, we need to stay focused and keep working hard because a totally different game awaits us against Dortmund on Saturday,” head coach Gerardo Seoane said.

Florian Neuhaus (Achilles issue), who was absent in Wolfsburg (3-1 win) on Sunday, returned to the pitch on Tuesday afternoon. “The pain was too strong at the end of the last few weeks. He’s feeling better at the moment. We need to see how his body reacts to the increased strain over the next few days,” said Seoane.

Koné trains individually, Plea doing rehab work

Manu Koné (thigh strain) trained on his own in the gym. Alassane Plea, who picked up a knock to his calf in Wolfsburg, did rehab work in the weights room, but he should be back in team training on Wednesday. Tony Jantschke (adductor issues) and Christoph Kramer (ill), who both missed Sunday’s game, were still absent.

Florian Neuhaus returned to the pitch on Tuesday.
