Ramy Bensebaini tests positive for Covid-19

The scheduled pre-match Covid-19 tests ahead of today’s Bundesliga game against FC Augsburg returned a positive result for defender Ramy Bensebaini.

The Algeria international, who was away on international duty in Algeria and Zimbabwe last week and returned to Germany on Thursday, has now entered self-isolation. Following talks with the local health department, no further players or members of the coaching and backroom staff are required to quarantine. A round of testing on Friday of all the players, coaches and staff didn’t return any further positive results. “We informed our opponents FC Augsburg this morning that any players that will be involved have all tested negative this week,” said Borussia’s sporting director Max Eberl.
