Yann Sommer spoke to the press following the 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. Hear from Borussia’s first-choice goalkeeper on...
...yesterday’s defeat: Regardless of whether it was deserved or not, a defeat is a defeat and means that we once again go home empty-handed. We definitely could have taken more from the game, but that won’t do us any good now. In the end, it’s the scoreline that matters and once again, it wasn’t a good result.
...the current winless run: It’s very disappointing that we’ve lost yet again. The last few weeks have been very disappointing for us, because we haven’t won. That hurts and it’s not something that’s escaped the team.
...the reasons behind the current lack of form: We’re not creating enough clear-cut chances for ourselves and aren’t generating enough power. Defensively, we’re mostly well positioned but at the moment our opponents have been extremely efficient.
...the way out of this tough situation: We need to get back to where we’re playing our game the way that we know how to. That’s the challenge for the team at the moment. We need to pick ourselves up now and get ready for our next challenge.
...hopes of getting back to winning ways in Augsburg on Friday: I always believe in us, because I know what we’re capable of doing as a team. I know exactly what we have as a team, as we’ve proven it often enough in the past. I hope that we get some of that ease back in our game, in order to get back to our strengths.
