Borussia take a stand for diversity, tolerance and cosmopolitanism

On the day that Germany will play their EURO 2020 group-stage match against Hungary, the Foals are taking a stand for diversity, tolerance and cosmopolitanism.

This Wednesday evening (21:00 CEST), the Germany national team take on Hungary in their final group game at the European Championship. For Borussia, the occasion is cause to take a stand for diversity, tolerance and cosmopolitanism. The City of Munich had planned to light up the Allianz Arena with the colours of the rainbow flag, however, UEFA denied this request. Instead, numerous stadiums across Germany will don the rainbow colours.

Gladbach would have gladly done the same, but sadly the lighting setup at BORUSSIA-PARK isn’t configurable to display multiple colours. Nevertheless, the club are instead flying three large rainbow flags at the ground to show their support. The Foals have also adopted the rainbow colours on their social media platforms, as Borussia stands for diversity and tolerance, and for the right for every person to love whoever they want!
