Stindl out of action with knee ligament strain

The Foals will be without Lars Stindl for the remainder of their time at the Harsewinkel-Marienfeld training camp, after the captain sustained a knee ligament strain.  

Lars Stindl, who will continue to captain Borussia during the 2021/22 season, has strained a ligament in his knee, as diagnosed following an MRI scan on Tuesday. The 32-year-old will therefore be sitting out the team training sessions at the camp in Harsewinkel-Marienfeld. Stindl will also miss this Saturday’s friendly against FC Metz, but will start returning to normal training over the course of the following week.

Bénes and pair of U19s involved as training camp begins

The Foals have begun their training camp at Klosterpforte in Harsewinkel-Marienfeld. The first training session took place on Sunday morning. Out on the pitch was László Bénes, as well as two U19 players who stood out for their performances against SC Paderborn.

Borussia beaten by Paderborn in second pre-season friendly

The Foals were beaten 3-1 by SC Paderborn 07 in their second pre-season friendly of 2021/22. U23s player Conor Noß scored Borussia’s only goal shortly after his introduction in the second half.

Borussia’s presidential board re-elected

During a meeting of Borussia Mönchengladbach’s supervisory board yesterday afternoon, the presidential board - consisting of club president Rolf Königs, vice presidents Siegfried Söllner and Rainer Bonhof, and board member Hans Meyer - was re-elected.
